Since returning to Aotearoa from London in 2021, Everybody (Dan Rainey) has re-established himself in the national scene, regularly performing at festivals such as Rhythm & Alps, Relish Festival, Snow Machine, This Kinda Day and Taniwha’s Den, while consistently selling out venues around the country with Tempo Schmempo’s raucous club nights. For the decade prior, he honed his craft across the UK club circuit, performing at venues such as Koko, Number 90, Cafe 1001, The Egg, XOYO, Ministry of Sound, and Pacha. However it was his long standing residencies at 93 Feet East, The Blues Kitchen, and Can Suldat in Ibiza, where he truly refined his craft. While routinely playing long form sets, he perfected the art of reading the room - drawing on keen intuition, eclectic taste and technical dexterity to select the perfect tune for any given moment.
As a promoter, he’s curated events with some of electronic music’s top brands, working with the likes of Boiler Room, Deviation, Live Nation, and Redbull to deliver events for such luminaries as Anderson .Paak, Action Bronson, Gilles Peterson, Julio Bashmore, Benji B, Fatima Yamaha, Richy Ahmed, Jordan Rakei and Pete Rock.
Now back in Wellington, Dan can be found as Everybody, performing dynamic sets that draw from his formidable grasp of genres and eras. Expect everything from dusty disco gems to obscure psychedelia, raw funk bombs to cutting-edge house and techno heaters — no stone is left unturned in search of the perfect mix.
