    DJ 22Tango has been playing the music he loves for over 25 years across New Zealand, Australia and the UK. Starting off in the vibrant NZ outdoor party scene he played many of the big festivals of the day including the Gathering & Destination.

    Mono Era

    ELECTRONIC (LIVE), INSTRUMENTAL (?) | Genre

    Mono Era is a live electronic project born out of creative necessity in early 2023, when Danny Fairley and Dan Rainey built a full live show from scratch in just six weeks. Blending melodic songwriting with roots in house and techno, they quickly developed a distinctive sound using synths, drum machines and analogue performance. Now, Mono Era delivers an evolving mix of techno, house, indie and left-field electronica, driven by creative chemistry and forward momentum.

    OCDJ is a lifelong music obsessive with a serious weakness for groove. Raised on a steady diet of crate-digging and genre-hopping, he’s been connecting dots between hip hop, punk, funk, rock, jazz, soul, house, disco, indie, breaks and electronica since the late 80s — and putting them to work on dance floors since the mid-90s.

    Rare Specimens

    Rare Specimens burst onto the national scene with an incendiary performance at Rhythm & Alps in 2023, where they were  simultaneously hailed as both the best act at the festival and “The Travelling Wilburys of Disco.” The quartet includes Dan Rainey, Nick Munday, Matt McPhee and Pete Green.

Tempo Schmempo began life as a slightly anarchic club night in 2018, offering DJ’s, bands, and artists a platform to express themselves. With diversity at the core of our ethos, the mission remains to celebrate each others’ differences through the music we love. Since then, we’ve grown in size and scope, now hosting regular events and club nights across Aotearoa and releasing music from our friends and collaborators.
